In 2019 a new European Parliament will be elected. For 25 years the European Single Market has enabled free movement for people and goods between its member states. Faced with international trade conflicts, gloom about economic prospects and uncertain markets, Europe remains a safe haven for export success for German and Swedish companies. Our guest speaker Holger Bingmann will share his point of view on how Europe secures our welfare, and what opportunities the European markets offer in 2019.

The speech will be followed by a discussion about the future of EU and how to unify the EU members in order to create further growth and competitiveness. Taking part in the panel are amongst others Christofer Fjellner (M), member of the European Parliament and Harald Pflanzl, SVP and Head of Central Europe BASF. It will be held in English and be moderated by economic journalist Ulf Wickbom.

Dr. Holger Bingmann is President of BGA – the German exporters' association, representing 125.000 companies with export to 233 countries. Dr. Bingmann is also the Managing Director of the media and logistics company Melo Group and often appears in German media.

Christofer Fjellner (M) is a Swedish Member of the European Parliament since 2004. He sits on the Committee on International Trade, the Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety and the Committee on Budgets. Before entering European politics, he was the Chairman of the Moderate Youth

Harald Pflanzl is head of the BASF sub-region North West & Central Europe which comprises 30 countries, including Sweden. In addition he is Managing Director of BASF Österreich, based in Vienna, Austria.
