In 1960 Benders was founded by Karl-Erik Bender in Edsvära, northeast of Gothenborg. At that time he installed Benders first roof tile machine. This was the humble beginning of today's Benders Group. The family always played a significant role for the company's development. Even today, Benders is still in family ownership. Ove Bender, the son of the founder Karl-Erik, is president and CEO. Today, the group produces and offers a wide variety of concrete products, mainly for the Scandinavian market, such as concrete tiles, paving stones and slabs, edge, block and plinth as well as décor stones.
In 1993, the independent German subsidiary Benders Dachstein GmbH was founded as a distribution company for roof tiles. After well increasing turnovers Benders decided to invest in a production facility for the German subsidiary, opened in 1998, too. This proved to be another growth engine for Benders in Germany and left the company to be recognized as an important supplier on the German concrete roof tile market.
All products produced by the Benders Dachstein GmbH are certified and have all the necessary test certificates for the German market. Additionally, the CE certificate proofs the quality for other markets, too. During the entire production process Benders gives greatest value to the highest standards of quality and a resource-saving production. The concrete roof tiles are coated with a specially developed surface-color (Benderit), in order to give greater emphasis to any color and make them durable for a long time. The metal-based pigments gives Benders Brilliant superior resistance for UV impact, higher compared to all that is available on the market of concrete roofing tiles.
