The Company

NIRA Dynamics AB is a limited Swedish company with expertise in signal processing and control systems for vehicle dynamics and active safety applications.

We provide customers worldwide with innovative, value-adding software products that enhance safety in tomorrows vehicles, for instance our state-of-the-art indirect tire pressure monitoring system TPI.

By cooperating with us our customers get fast and easy access to state-of-the-art technology, which strengthens their product offers and competitiveness.

NIRA Dynamics AB was founded in 2001 and today operates from two offices in Sweden, in Mjärdevi Science Park in Linköping and in Högsbo in Gothenburg.

NIRA Dynamics AB holds an ISO 9001:2000 certificate and has efficient and structured processes and tools to manage collaborative development projects. This and our well educated and experienced staff makes us an ideal partner for innovative and challenging development projects in international environments.

Technology

NIRA Dynamics AB is developing unique sensor fusion based systems for different vehicle applications that utilize the potential in the sensor fusion idea to improve the performance and reduce the system cost.

Sensor Fusion

Sensor fusion, or sensor data fusion, can be described as using information from several different physical sensors to compute new, virtual sensor signals. The virtual sensors can in principle be of two different types:

Improved, smart versions of physical sensors, or

Soft sensors that have no direct physical counterpart among the sensors used.

The sensor fusion idea is quite general and has many different application areas, for example navigation, target tracking, aircraft attitude estimation, and various other civilian and military applications. Through close collaborations with world-class research groups at Linköpings universitet, Sweden, and Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden, NIRA Dynamics AB is constantly in touch with the research frontier in these areas, which guarantees our in-flow of new ideas.

Vehicle Applications

Examples of sensor fusion technologies developed by NIRA Dynamics AB include the advanced indirect tire pressure monitoring system TPI, the GPS-free positioning system MAP, and several functions for classification of different road condition parameters such as tire/road friction and the texture of the road surface.
